3:1AndJoshuaroseearlyinthemorning;andtheyremovedfromShittim，andcametoJordan，heandallthechildrenofIsrael，andlodgedtherebeforetheypassedover.

3:2Anditcametopassafterthreedays，thattheofficerswentthroughthehost;

3:3Andtheymandedthepeople，saying，WhenyeseethearkofthecovenantoftheLORDyourGod，andtheprieststheLevitesbearingit，thenyeshallremovefromyourplace，andgoafterit.

3:4Yetthereshallbeaspacebetweenyouandit，abouttwothousandcubitsbymeasure:enotnearuntoit，thatyemayknowthewaybywhichyemustgo:foryehavenotpassedthiswayheretofore.

3:5AndJoshuasaiduntothepeople，Sanctifyyourselves:fortomorrowtheLORDwilldowondersamongyou.

3:6AndJoshuaspakeuntothepriests，saying，Takeupthearkofthecovenant，andpassoverbeforethepeople.Andtheytookupthearkofthecovenant，andwentbeforethepeople.

3:7AndtheLORDsaiduntoJoshua，ThisdaywillIbegintomagnifytheeinthesightofallIsrael，thattheymayknowthat，asIwaswithMoses，soIwillbewiththee.

3:8Andthoushaltmandtheprieststhatbearthearkofthecovenant，saying，WhenyeareetothebrinkofthewaterofJordan，yeshallstandstillinJordan.

3:9AndJoshuasaiduntothechildrenofIsrael，Comehither，andhearthewordsoftheLORDyourGod.

3:10AndJoshuasaid，HerebyyeshallknowthatthelivingGodisamongyou，andthathewillwithoutfaildriveoutfrombeforeyoutheCanaanites，andtheHittites，andtheHivites，andthePerizzites，andtheGirgashites，andtheAmorites，andtheJebusites.

3:11Behold，thearkofthecovenantoftheLORDofalltheearthpassethoverbeforeyouintoJordan.

3:12NowthereforetakeyoutwelvemenoutofthetribesofIsrael，outofeverytribeaman.

3:13Anditshalletopass，assoonasthesolesofthefeetoftheprieststhatbearthearkoftheLORD，theLORDofalltheearth，shallrestinthewatersofJordan，thatthewatersofJordanshallbecutofffromthewatersthatedownfromabove;andtheyshallstanduponanheap.

3:14Anditcametopass，whenthepeopleremovedfromtheirtents，topassoverJordan，andthepriestsbearingthearkofthecovenantbeforethepeople;

3:15AndastheythatbarethearkwereeuntoJordan，andthefeetoftheprieststhatbarethearkweredippedinthebrimofthewater，（forJordanoverflowethallhisbanksallthetimeofharvest，）

3:16ThatthewaterswhichcamedownfromabovestoodandroseupuponanheapveryfarfromthecityAdam，thatisbesideZaretan:andthosethatcamedowntowardtheseaoftheplain，eventhesaltsea，failed，andwerecutoff:andthepeoplepassedoverrightagainstJericho.

3:17AndtheprieststhatbarethearkofthecovenantoftheLORDstoodfirmondrygroundinthemidstofJordan，andalltheIsraelitespassedoverondryground，untilallthepeoplewerepassedcleanoverJordan.

4:1Anditcametopass，whenallthepeoplewerecleanpassedoverJordan，thattheLORDspakeuntoJoshua，saying，

4:2Takeyoutwelvemenoutofthepeople，outofeverytribeaman，

4:3Andmandyethem，saying，TakeyouhenceoutofthemidstofJordan，outoftheplacewherethepriestsfeetstoodfirm，twelvestones，andyeshallcarrythemoverwithyou，andleavetheminthelodgingplace，whereyeshalllodgethisnight.

4:4ThenJoshuacalledthetwelvemen，whomhehadpreparedofthechildrenofIsrael，outofeverytribeaman:

4:5AndJoshuasaiduntothem，PassoverbeforethearkoftheLORDyourGodintothemidstofJordan，andtakeyouupeverymanofyouastoneuponhisshoulder，accordinguntothenumberofthetribesofthechildrenofIsrael:

4:6Thatthismaybeasignamongyou，thatwhenyourchildrenasktheirfathersintimetoe，saying，Whatmeanyebythesestones?

4:7Thenyeshallanswerthem，ThatthewatersofJordanwerecutoffbeforethearkofthecovenantoftheLORD;whenitpassedoverJordan，thewatersofJordanwerecutoff:andthesestonesshallbeforamemorialuntothechildrenofIsraelforever.

4:8AndthechildrenofIsraeldidsoasJoshuamanded，andtookuptwelvestonesoutofthemidstofJordan，astheLORDspakeuntoJoshua，accordingtothenumberofthetribesofthechildrenofIsrael，andcarriedthemoverwiththemuntotheplacewheretheylodged，andlaidthemdownthere.

4:9AndJoshuasetuptwelvestonesinthemidstofJordan，intheplacewherethefeetofthepriestswhichbarethearkofthecovenantstood:andtheyarethereuntothisday.

4:10ForthepriestswhichbarethearkstoodinthemidstofJordan，untileverythingwasfinishedthattheLORDmandedJoshuatospeakuntothepeople，accordingtoallthatMosesmandedJoshua:andthepeoplehastedandpassedover.

4:11Anditcametopass，whenallthepeoplewerecleanpassedover，thatthearkoftheLORDpassedover，andthepriests，inthepresenceofthepeople.

4:12AndthechildrenofReuben，andthechildrenofGad，andhalfthetribeofManasseh，passedoverarmedbeforethechildrenofIsrael，asMosesspakeuntothem:

4:13AboutfortythousandpreparedforwarpassedoverbeforetheLORDuntobattle，totheplainsofJericho.

4:14OnthatdaytheLORDmagnifiedJoshuainthesightofallIsrael;andtheyfearedhim，astheyfearedMoses，allthedaysofhislife.

4:15AndtheLORDspakeuntoJoshua，saying，

4:16Commandtheprieststhatbearthearkofthetestimony，thattheyeupoutofJordan.

4:17Joshuathereforemandedthepriests，saying，ComeyeupoutofJordan.
