3:13Fortheythathaveusedtheofficeofadeaconwellpurchasetothemselvesagooddegree，andgreatboldnessinthefaithwhichisinChristJesus.

3:14ThesethingswriteIuntothee，hopingtoeuntotheeshortly:

3:15ButifItarrylong，thatthoumayestknowhowthououghtesttobehavethyselfinthehouseofGod，whichisthechurchofthelivingGod，thepillarandgroundofthetruth.

3:16Andwithoutcontroversygreatisthemysteryofgodliness:Godwasmanifestintheflesh，justifiedintheSpirit，seenofangels，preacheduntotheGentiles，believedonintheworld，receivedupintoglory.

4:1NowtheSpiritspeakethexpressly，thatinthelattertimessomeshalldepartfromthefaith，givingheedtoseducingspirits，anddoctrinesofdevils;

4:2Speakingliesinhypocrisy;havingtheirconsciencesearedwithahotiron;

4:3Forbiddingtomarry，andmandingtoabstainfrommeats，whichGodhathcreatedtobereceivedwiththanksgivingofthemwhichbelieveandknowthetruth.

4:4ForeverycreatureofGodisgood，andnothingtoberefused，ifitbereceivedwiththanksgiving:

4:5ForitissanctifiedbythewordofGodandprayer.

4:6Ifthouputthebrethreninremembranceofthesethings，thoushaltbeagoodministerofJesusChrist，nourishedupinthewordsoffaithandofgooddoctrine，whereuntothouhastattained.

4:7Butrefuseprofaneandoldwivesfables，andexercisethyselfratheruntogodliness.

4:8Forbodilyexerciseprofitethlittle:butgodlinessisprofitableuntoallthings，havingpromiseofthelifethatnowis，andofthatwhichistoe.

4:9Thisisafaithfulsayingandworthyofallacceptation.

4:10Forthereforewebothlabourandsufferreproach，becausewetrustinthelivingGod，whoistheSaviourofallmen，speciallyofthosethatbelieve.

4:11Thesethingsmandandteach.

4:12Letnomandespisethyyouth;butbethouanexampleofthebelievers，inword，inconversation，incharity，inspirit，infaith，inpurity.

4:13TillIe，giveattendancetoreading，toexhortation，todoctrine.

4:14Neglectnotthegiftthatisinthee，whichwasgiventheebyprophecy，withthelayingonofthehandsofthepresbytery.

4:15Meditateuponthesethings;givethyselfwhollytothem;thatthyprofitingmayappeartoall.

4:16Takeheeduntothyself，anduntothedoctrine;continueinthem:forindoingthisthoushaltbothsavethyself，andthemthathearthee.

5:1Rebukenotanelder，butintreathimasafather;andtheyoungermenasbrethren;

5:2Theelderwomenasmothers;theyoungerassisters，withallpurity.

5:3Honourwidowsthatarewidowsindeed.

5:4Butifanywidowhavechildrenornephews，letthemlearnfirsttoshewpietyathome，andtorequitetheirparents:forthatisgoodandacceptablebeforeGod.

5:5Nowshethatisawidowindeed，anddesolate，trustethinGod，andcontinuethinsupplicationsandprayersnightandday.

5:6Butshethatlivethinpleasureisdeadwhilesheliveth.

5:7Andthesethingsgiveincharge，thattheymaybeblameless.

5:8Butifanyprovidenotforhisown，andspeciallyforthoseofhisownhouse，hehathdeniedthefaith，andisworsethananinfidel.

5:9Letnotawidowbetakenintothenumberunderthreescoreyearsold，havingbeenthewifeofoneman.
