2:10Whichintimepastwerenotapeople，butarenowthepeopleofGod:whichhadnotobtainedmercy，butnowhaveobtainedmercy.

2:11Dearlybeloved，Ibeseechyouasstrangersandpilgrims，abstainfromfleshlylusts，whichwaragainstthesoul;

2:12HavingyourconversationhonestamongtheGentiles:that，whereastheyspeakagainstyouasevildoers，theymaybyyourgoodworks，whichtheyshallbehold，glorifyGodinthedayofvisitation.

2:13SubmityourselvestoeveryordinanceofmanfortheLordssake:whetheritbetotheking，assupreme;

2:14Oruntogovernors，asuntothemthataresentbyhimforthepunishmentofevildoers，andforthepraiseofthemthatdowell.

2:15ForsoisthewillofGod，thatwithwelldoingyemayputtosilencetheignoranceoffoolishmen:

2:16Asfree，andnotusingyourlibertyforaclokeofmaliciousness，butastheservantsofGod.

2:17Honourallmen.Lovethebrotherhood.FearGod.Honourtheking.

2:18Servants，besubjecttoyourmasterswithallfear;notonlytothegoodandgentle，butalsotothefroward.

2:19Forthisisthankworthy，ifamanforconsciencetowardGodenduregrief，sufferingwrongfully.

2:20Forwhatgloryisit，if，whenyebebuffetedforyourfaults，yeshalltakeitpatiently?butif，whenyedowell，andsufferforit，yetakeitpatiently，thisisacceptablewithGod.

2:21Forevenhereuntowereyecalled:becauseChristalsosufferedforus，leavingusanexample，thatyeshouldfollowhissteps:

2:22Whodidnosin，neitherwasguilefoundinhismouth:

2:23Who，whenhewasreviled，revilednotagain;whenhesuffered，hethreatenednot;butmittedhimselftohimthatjudgethrighteously:

2:24Whohisownselfbareoursinsinhisownbodyonthetree，thatwe，beingdeadtosins，shouldliveuntorighteousness:bywhosestripesyewerehealed.

2:25Foryewereassheepgoingastray;butarenowreturneduntotheShepherdandBishopofyoursouls.

3:1Likewise，yewives，beinsubjectiontoyourownhusbands;that，ifanyobeynottheword，theyalsomaywithoutthewordbewonbytheconversationofthewives;

3:2Whiletheybeholdyourchasteconversationcoupledwithfear.

3:3Whoseadorningletitnotbethatoutwardadorningofplaitingthehair，andofwearingofgold，orofputtingonofapparel;

3:4Butletitbethehiddenmanoftheheart，inthatwhichisnotcorruptible，eventheornamentofameekandquietspirit，whichisinthesightofGodofgreatprice.

3:5Forafterthismannerintheoldtimetheholywomenalso，whotrustedinGod，adornedthemselves，beinginsubjectionuntotheirownhusbands:

3:6EvenasSaraobeyedAbraham，callinghimlord:whosedaughtersyeare，aslongasyedowell，andarenotafraidwithanyamazement.

3:7Likewise，yehusbands，dwellwiththemaccordingtoknowledge，givinghonouruntothewife，asuntotheweakervessel，andasbeingheirstogetherofthegraceoflife;thatyourprayersbenothindered.

3:8Finally，beyeallofonemind，havingpassiononeofanother，loveasbrethren，bepitiful，becourteous:

3:9Notrenderingevilforevil，orrailingforrailing:butcontrariwiseblessing;knowingthatyearethereuntocalled，thatyeshouldinheritablessing.

3:10Forhethatwilllovelife，andseegooddays，lethimrefrainhistonguefromevil，andhislipsthattheyspeaknoguile:

3:11Lethimeschewevil，anddogood;lethimseekpeace，andensueit.

3:12FortheeyesoftheLordareovertherighteous，andhisearsareopenuntotheirprayers:butthefaceoftheLordisagainstthemthatdoevil.

3:13Andwhoishethatwillharmyou，ifyebefollowersofthatwhichisgood?

3:14Butandifyesufferforrighteousnesssake，happyareye:andbenotafraidoftheirterror，neitherbetroubled;

3:15ButsanctifytheLordGodinyourhearts:andbereadyalwaystogiveananswertoeverymanthataskethyouareasonofthehopethatisinyouwithmeeknessandfear:

3:16Havingagoodconscience;that，whereastheyspeakevilofyou，asofevildoers，theymaybeashamedthatfalselyaccuseyourgoodconversationinChrist.

3:17Foritisbetter，ifthewillofGodbeso，thatyesufferforwelldoing，thanforevildoing.

3:18ForChristalsohathoncesufferedforsins，thejustfortheunjust，thathemightbringustoGod，beingputtodeathintheflesh，butquickenedbytheSpirit:

3:19Bywhichalsohewentandpreacheduntothespiritsinprison;

3:20Whichsometimeweredisobedient，whenoncethelongsufferingofGodwaitedinthedaysofNoah，whilethearkwasapreparing，whereinfew，thatis，eightsoulsweresavedbywater.
